Mossel Bay Golf Club

Mossel Bay Golf Club

«Golfing in Mossel Bay.»

The course is an easy walk and very playable from tee to green for all golfers, even if you have just taken up the game. The beautiful views of the Indian Ocean or the Springbuck roaming on the course might distract you, but they will most definitely leave you with lasting memories.

The Mossel Bay golf course signature hole is the 3d hole, which is a par 4. At almost 400m, and a stroke three, this can be challenging especially when playing into the sea breeze. he tee is situated high above the fairway with magnificent visews over the estate, and the hole runs downhill towards the green with the Indian Ocean as your backdrop. Well-placed bunkers on either side of the fairway will catch any errand tee shots. The green is a large two level undulating green, which makes a guaranteed par 4 on the hole uncertain.

Dress Code on the Mossel Bay Golf Course:
Suitable golf attire is required for the golf course and clubhouse. Only golf shoes with soft spikes (no golf sandals) are allowed on the course.

Knysna Golf Club

Knysna Golf Club

«Golfing in the Heart of the Garden Route.»

Knysna Golf Club was founded in 1909 and only moved to its present location in 1953. It started as a 9-hole course and was made an 18-hole course in 1960. The course originally had bayview greens and very few bunkers until, in 1994, an extensive upgrade program was launched and 19 new Crenshaw bent grass greens were built. Over the years, new tidal pools and channels have been introduced and real attention paid to the bunkering throughout the layout. That this has been successfully implemented can be seen from the clubhouse, for the eighteenth hole now has a superb bent grass surface covering a large undulating area. Together with an attractive and potentially hazardous water feature, shapely and well manicured bunkers protecting the green add to what is now a substantial finishing challenge.

Dress Code at the Knysna Golf Club:
Men may wear long or short socks with golf shorts. No rugby or bermuda shorts, jeans or collarless shirts are permitted to be worn on the golf course. Collared shirts and shoes with socks must be worn in the clubhouse.

Simola Golf Club

Simola Golf Club

«Golfing on the most extraordinary Golf Course of South Africa.»

Keeping your head down at Simola can be a challenge; simply because the views around the course are awe-inspiring, and with this, it is clear to see why Simola takes its place as one of South Africa’s premier golfing destinations. It’s also the first Jack Nicklaus Signature course on the Garden Route, reflecting the maestro’s philosophy of attuning the layout and design to the natural lie of the land. Set below the high ridges, it’s free from the wind that so often plagues coastal courses. Fairways flow with the natural undulating contours of the terrain and the unusual configuration of five par 5’s and five par 3’s adds a new dimension to the game. It’s typical for the course that every hole boasts exceptional views; either out across the Knysna Lagoon to the Heads or over the Knysna River as it twists and turns through the valley below.
